Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is a Semi-Formal letter that you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Discussion Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
You recently attended a weekend photography workshop organised by a local community centre. You found the workshop extremely useful and would like to recommend it to a colleague who is interested in photography. Write a letter to your colleague.
In your letter:
- Describe the workshop and what it included.
- Explain why you found it useful.
- Encourage your colleague to attend a future workshop.
IELTS Writing Task 2
Some people believe that adults should regularly learn new skills throughout their lives, while others think that education should mainly be completed during childhood and early adulthood. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Write at least 250 words.
