Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an Informal letter that you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Positive/Negative Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
Your friend has recently started a new hobby and has invited you to join. However, you are interested in a different hobby. Write a letter to your friend.
In your letter:
- Thank your friend for the invitation.
- Explain why you are unable to join the hobby.
- Describe the hobby you are interested in and invite your friend to try it with you.
IELTS Writing Task 2
Many people today take photographs of almost everything they do and share them on social media rather than simply enjoying the moment. Is this a positive or negative development?
Write at least 250 words.
