Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an Informal letter that you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Discussion Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
Your cousin is planning to start university in your city and will be moving there soon.
Write a letter to your cousin.
In your letter:
- Give some advice about finding accommodation.
- Describe what life is like in your city.
- Offer to help him/her when he/she arrives.
IELTS Writing Task 2
Many people believe that success in life is largely determined by hard work and determination, while others think that factors such as money, appearance and social connections are more important. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Write at least 250 words.
