Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an Informal Letter that you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Problem-Solution Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
Your friend bought tickets to the theatre for both of you. Write a letter to a friend to tell him that you cannot go to the theatre.
In your letter:
- Apologise.
- Explain the situation.
- Tell him what he can do with the extra ticket.
IELTS Writing Task 2
Giving lectures in auditoriums to large numbers of students is an old way of teaching. With the technology available today, there is no justification for it, and everything should be done online.
To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your own opinion.
Write at least 250 words.
