Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an Informal letter, which you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Direct Question Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.

A friend of yours is going to start university soon and is unsure whether to study History, which he enjoys very much, or Computer Science, which offers better career opportunities. Write a letter to your friend.

IELTS Writing Task 2
Women and men are commonly seen as having different strengths and weaknesses.
Is it right to exclude males or females from certain professions because of their gender?
What is your view? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.
