Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is a Formal letter that you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Discussion Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
A local train company is considering introducing "quiet carriages" where passengers are not allowed to make phone calls or play audio without headphones. The company has invited members of the public to share their views. Write a letter to the train company.
In your letter:

IELTS Writing Task 2
Some people believe that making mistakes is the best way to learn, while others think that mistakes should be avoided whenever possible. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.
