IELTS General Writing Practice Test 45 with Sample Essay

This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is a Formal Letter, which you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Discussion Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.

You are going on a short course at a training college abroad. It is a college that you have not been to before.

Write a letter to the accommodation officer.

In your letter,

• Give details of your course and your arrival/departure date

• Explain your accommodation needs

• Ask for information about getting to and from the college

Many people today think that homework is still an important part of school, while others think that it is becoming outdated.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
