Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an Informal Letter, which you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes an Agree/Disagree Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
You have received an important document in a foreign language, and you need it translated quickly. One of your friends knows this language. Write a letter to this friend.
In your letter:
- Tell him why the document is important.
- Explain why you need it translated urgently.
- Suggest to your friend how you will get the document to him.
IELTS Writing Task 2
Every year, several languages die out. Some people think that it is not important because life will be easier if there are fewer languages in the world. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.
Write at least 250 words.
