This IELTS Speaking Practice Test has 3 Sections. In Part 1, you will be asked questions by your examiner for 4-5 minutes about the topic of Mental Health. In Part 2, you will be given a cue card for a monologue of 2 minutes based on the topic Describe A Time When You Felt Mentally Stressed, followed by more in-depth questions for another 4-5 minutes based on the cue card in Part 3. A. Many things can cause stress, such as academic pressure, work responsibilities, financial problems, or family issues. During my examination periods, I sometimes feel stressed because of deadlines and expectations. However, I try to manage it by staying organised and taking short breaks when necessary.

A. Yes, definitely. Many young people experience pressure related to studies, careers, and social relationships. My friend Tania once felt overwhelmed while preparing for university entrance exams because of the intense competition. Sample Answer
One time when I felt mentally stressed was during my final college examinations last year. It was a particularly challenging period because I had several exams scheduled within a short time, and I wanted to achieve good results.
The main cause of my stress was the large amount of material that I needed to revise. In addition, I was worried about meeting my family's expectations and performing well academically. At one point, I felt overwhelmed because I was studying for long hours every day and hardly had any time to relax.
To deal with the situation, I decided to organise my schedule more effectively. I created a study timetable and divided my subjects into smaller sections. I also started taking short breaks between study sessions, listening to music, and going for evening walks with my friend Ayaan. My aunt Farzana also encouraged me to practise simple breathing exercises, which helped me stay calm and focused.
After a few weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in my mood and concentration. By the time the examinations ended, I felt much more relaxed and confident. Fortunately, my hard work paid off, and I achieved good results.

A. Yes, technology can have both positive and negative effects. On the positive side, people can access educational resources, counselling services, and support communities online. However, excessive screen time and constant exposure to social media may contribute to stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem. My younger cousin sometimes spends too much time online and feels frustrated when comparing herself to others. Therefore, technology should be used in moderation.

A. Yes, I think they do.
