IELTS Speaking Part 1
Beautiful City
Q1. Do you live in a beautiful city?
A. Yes, I believe Kolkata is a very beautiful city because it has a unique combination of historical architecture, cultural heritage, and modern development. Places like Victoria Memorial and Princep Ghat are especially attractive, particularly in the evening when the surroundings become calm and scenic.
Q2. What do you think makes a city beautiful?
A. In my opinion, a beautiful city should have clean streets, green spaces, impressive architecture, and a peaceful atmosphere. I also think culture plays an important role because festivals, local traditions, and friendly people can make a city feel more lively and memorable.
Q3. Are there any beautiful cities you would like to visit?
A. Yes, I would really like to visit Paris someday because of its elegant architecture and famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower. I have also heard that cities like Kyoto and Venice are incredibly beautiful because of their historical charm and artistic atmosphere.
Q4. Do you prefer modern cities or historical cities?
A. Personally, I prefer historical cities because they usually have more character and cultural depth. Modern cities are certainly convenient and well-developed, but historical places often tell fascinating stories about the past through their buildings, museums, and traditions.
Q5. Has your city changed over the years?
A. Yes, significantly. Kolkata has become much more developed over the years with improved transportation systems, shopping malls, and modern residential areas. However, despite these changes, the city has still managed to preserve much of its traditional culture and historical identity.

Sample Answer
One of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited is Darjeeling, which is located in the northern part of West Bengal. I visited the city about two years ago with my family during our summer vacation. Since I had always heard people praise its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere, I was extremely excited about the trip.
During our stay, we visited several famous attractions such as Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop, and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, which is also known as the Toy Train. One of my favourite experiences was watching the sunrise from Tiger Hill early in the morning. The view of the Kanchenjunga mountain covered in golden sunlight looked absolutely breathtaking.
Apart from sightseeing, we also spent time exploring local cafés and markets. I particularly enjoyed trying traditional Tibetan foods like momos and thukpa while walking through Mall Road with my cousin Armaan. The weather was cool and refreshing, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
I think Darjeeling is beautiful not only because of its mountains and greenery but also because of its calm and charming atmosphere. Unlike crowded metropolitan cities, it feels peaceful and relaxing. The combination of natural scenery, colonial architecture, and friendly local people makes it a truly unforgettable place for me.

IELTS Speaking Part 3
Q1. What makes a city beautiful in your opinion?
A. I think a city becomes beautiful when it has a balance of natural scenery, clean surroundings, and pleasant architecture. For example, in places like Darjeeling, the mountains, greenery, and calm atmosphere make the entire environment feel peaceful. I also believe the behaviour of local people and cultural richness add to the beauty of a city.
Q2. Do you think natural beauty is more important than man-made beauty in a city?
A. To some extent, yes. Natural beauty like hills, rivers, and greenery creates a calming and refreshing environment, which is difficult to replace. However, man-made beauty, such as well-designed buildings, clean streets, and public spaces, is also important. I think the best cities are those that combine both natural and man-made elements effectively.
Q3. Why do some cities attract more tourists than others?
A. I believe cities attract tourists mainly because of their unique attractions and overall experience. For instance, Darjeeling is popular because of its scenic views, toy train, and sunrise points like Tiger Hill. Apart from that, good weather, food, and cultural experiences also influence tourism.
Q4. How can cities maintain their beauty in the long term?
A. Cities can maintain their beauty by focusing on cleanliness, environmental protection, and controlled urban development. Authorities should prevent pollution, protect green areas, and maintain historical sites properly. Public awareness is also important because citizens play a big role in keeping their city clean and attractive.
Q5. Do you think living in a beautiful city affects people’s mood?
A. Yes, definitely. Living in a beautiful environment can positively affect a person’s mental well-being. For example, places with greenery and less pollution often make people feel relaxed and less stressed. On the other hand, crowded and polluted cities may increase anxiety and reduce overall happiness.
