Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an informal letter that you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes an advantages/disadvantages essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
Write a letter to your friend about a job opportunity you came across that they might find interesting.
In your letter, you should:
- Give some details about the job
- Mention how you came across the job opportunity
- Explain why you feel the job would be suitable for your friend
IELTS Writing Task 2
In many cities, planners tend to arrange shops, schools, offices, and homes in specific areas and separate them from each other. Do you think the advantages of this policy outweigh the disadvantages?
