Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an Informal Letter, which you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Problem-Solution Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
IELTS Writing Task 1
You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he /she should get a job. Write a letter to this friend.
In your letter:
- Say why he/she would not enjoy going to college.
- Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her.
- Suggest types of jobs that would be suitable for him/her.
IELTS Writing Task 2
In many parts of the world today, there is a profitable market for products which lighten or whiten people’s skin. Outline the reasons for using such products and discuss what effects they have in terms of health and society. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.
Write at least 250 words.
