Key Highlights
This IELTS General Writing Test consists of 2 tasks. Task 1 is an Informal Letter, which you need to write in at least 150 words. Task 2 includes a Direct Question Essay topic, which you need to write in 250 words. You need 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.

Write a letter to this friend.

Many people believe that reducing the income gap between the rich and the poor can lead to happier societies. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.
