IELTS Speaking Part 1
Imaginary Superpowers
Q1. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A. If I could choose any superpower, I would probably pick the ability to pause time. It would allow me to complete tasks without feeling rushed and enjoy moments that usually pass too quickly. For example, I could spend extra time reading books or learning new skills. Although it's imaginary, I think it would make life much less stressful.
Q2. Did you enjoy superhero stories when you were a child?
A. Yes, I was quite fond of them when I was younger. I used to watch animated superhero shows and imagine myself as one of the characters. What fascinated me most was not their strength but their sense of responsibility. Those stories taught me valuable lessons about courage and helping others.
Q3. Do you think people often dream about having special abilities?
A. Absolutely. I think many people imagine having abilities that could solve their everyday problems. Students might wish they could learn instantly, while busy workers might want to be in two places at once. These fantasies usually reflect what people feel is missing in their lives. In a way, they reveal our hopes and ambitions.
Q4. Which superpower would be the most useful in modern life?
A. In my opinion, teleportation would be incredibly useful nowadays. People spend a considerable amount of time commuting or travelling long distances. If teleportation existed, it could save time, reduce transportation costs, and even lower environmental pollution. It would completely transform the way we live and work.
Q5. Is there any superpower you would not want to have?
A. Yes, I wouldn't want the ability to read people's minds all the time. Although it sounds interesting at first, I think it could become overwhelming. Everyone has private thoughts, and knowing them constantly might damage relationships. Sometimes ignorance is better than knowing every detail about others.
Q6. Do movies influence people's ideas about superpowers?
A. To a certain extent, yes. Films often present superpowers as exciting and glamorous, which makes them appealing to viewers. However, many movies also show the challenges and responsibilities that come with such abilities. As a result, audiences often think more deeply about how power should be used.

Sample Answer
If time were not a limitation, I would love to learn the art of restoring old and damaged books. It's quite an unusual skill, but I've always been fascinated by the idea of bringing something valuable back to life.
I first became interested in it when I watched a short documentary about a craftsman who repaired centuries-old books by hand. I was amazed by the patience, precision, and creativity involved in the process. Instead of throwing away damaged books, he preserved their history for future generations.
If I had enough free time, I would probably start by taking online courses and reading specialised materials about book conservation. Later, I would like to learn directly from experienced restorers and practice on old books collected from second-hand stores. Since this skill requires attention to detail, I believe consistent practice would be essential.
The main reason I would like to master this skill is that books are more than just objects; they often contain memories, knowledge, and cultural heritage. Restoring them would allow me to combine creativity with meaningful work. Moreover, I think there is something deeply satisfying about repairing something that others consider beyond saving. For these reasons, book restoration is a skill I would genuinely love to acquire one day.

IELTS Speaking Part 3
Q1. Why are people fascinated by superheroes?
A. I think people are fascinated by superheroes because they embody qualities that many individuals aspire to possess, such as courage, resilience, and selflessness. They often face extraordinary challenges and still manage to overcome them, which makes them inspiring figures. Another reason is that superheroes offer an escape from everyday life and allow people to imagine a world where anything is possible. In addition, their stories often contain important moral lessons about responsibility and justice. This combination of entertainment and inspiration explains their lasting popularity.
Q2. Do you think technology can give humans abilities similar to superpowers?
A. To a certain extent, yes. Technological advancements have already enabled people to accomplish tasks that would have seemed unimaginable a few decades ago. For example, we can instantly communicate with someone on the other side of the world or use artificial intelligence to solve complex problems. Medical technologies have also improved human capabilities by restoring hearing, vision, and mobility. Although these innovations are not actual superpowers, they significantly enhance what humans can do. As technology continues to evolve, the gap between science fiction and reality may become even smaller.
Q3. Would society benefit if people could read each other's minds?
A. I believe the disadvantages would outweigh the benefits. While mind-reading could reduce misunderstandings and encourage honesty, it would also eliminate personal privacy. Everyone has thoughts that they may not want to share, and having no control over that information could create tension in relationships. Moreover, people might become anxious about being constantly judged by others. Trust could actually weaken because individuals would feel exposed rather than respected. Therefore, I think society functions better when people choose what they wish to reveal.
Q4. Why do many children dream of having special powers?
A. Children naturally have active imaginations and enjoy exploring ideas that go beyond reality. Superpowers make them feel powerful and capable of overcoming challenges that seem difficult in real life. Many films, cartoons, and books portray heroes as confident and successful, which makes children admire them. Furthermore, children often have limited control over their daily lives, so imagining special abilities can give them a sense of freedom. It is also a fun way for them to express creativity and curiosity about the world.
Q5. Is it important for people to have role models?
A. Yes, I think role models play a crucial role in personal development. They provide examples of what can be achieved through hard work, determination, and discipline. People often feel more motivated when they see someone they admire succeeding despite difficulties. In addition, role models can encourage positive values and influence important life decisions. However, it is important to choose role models carefully because not all successful individuals set a good example. A positive role model can have a lasting impact on a person's mindset and ambitions.
Q6. Do you think people today rely too much on technology?
A. In many ways, yes. Technology has undoubtedly made life more convenient, but excessive reliance can sometimes reduce people's independence. For instance, many individuals depend on navigation apps even when travelling to familiar places. Similarly, constant access to information may discourage people from developing critical thinking skills. Another concern is that excessive screen time can affect social interactions and overall well-being. While technology offers numerous benefits, I believe it should be used as a tool rather than something people depend on entirely.
